International Organization for Standardization (ISO)

International Organization for Standardization (ISO)

The ISO Training and Certification Program is intended to help Memphis/Shelby County-based Women and Minority-Owned Businesses (W/MBEs) increase their ability to secure more sales and receipts, and to be eligible to compete for local, national and international contracts. ISO is an internationally recognized quality business management system that adheres to standards for world-class specifications for products, services and systems to ensure quality, safety and efficiency. Forgivable Loan and Financial Obligations

The ISO Training and Certification Program provides a $15,000 forgiveable loan to qualified, selected W/MBE owners. If accepted into the program, participants are responsible for $250 entry fee payable before the first training session and an additional $250 upon completion of the ISO training prior to receiving an ISO certification. Personal guarantees may be required for the Forgiveable Loan, and real or personal property may be required as collateral. For the loan to be 'forgiveable' key timelines and certification guidelines must be met. The Forgiveable Loan requirements are available through the application process.

ISO Training Requirement

Selected W/MBE owners are required to complete each of the eleven weekly, half-day training sessions that will be held at the Greater Memphis Chamber on Monday afternoons from 1:00 - 5:00 PM beginning on April 25 through August 8, 2016. These training sessions are mandatory, and each business owner may include up to two additional company staff members to join the sessions. The participating business owner commits to complete all class assignments on time and to submit assignments as instructed.
