Chamber Events & Programming
The Greater Memphis Chamber offers many opportunities for networking throughout the year. These events range in focus, including monthly membership meetings, industry-focused meetings, athletic events, etc. Please see the following breakdown for programming descriptions. Annual Chairman’s Luncheon
The largest business event in Memphis, more than 1,000 business and community leaders attend our Annual Chairman's Luncheon each year. This event includes special presentations that range from the University of Memphis coaching teams to local artists and musicians to nationally recognized celebrities from the area. The Chairman of the Board of Directors also provides an overview of accomplishments for the year and highlights the vision for the next year.
Held a month prior to the PGA Tour’s FedEx St. Jude Classic, players at the Greater Memphis Chamber's Golf Invitational will have the opportunity to play on the greens as they are being prepared for the best in the sport. One of the most sought-after tournaments, the Chamber’s tourney includes lunch, cart and green fees, swag bag, complimentary beverages on the course, door prizes and an awards reception following the tournament.
In The Mix
These are a great way to meet and connect with fellow members and non-members alike. There are approximately 200 to 300 people in attendance at each one of these networking mixers.
International Business Council Programming
The International Business Council brings together businesses interested in facilitating the growth of international trade and foreign direct investment in Memphis; educating Memphis businesses in conducting business on an international basis; driving economic development through interaction with foreign organizations; and accomplishing this with the help of Memphians with a keen understanding of international business. There are two International Business Council meetings each year, along with the two joint council meetings.
Joint Council Programming
The International Business, Regional Logistics and Manufacturing Councils come together twice a year for joint council meetings on topics important to Memphis and the industries.
Lunch In The Know
The Lunch In the Know program features presentations from local business leaders who address important issues related to small business success. These programs also provide time for networking with other business executives and a complimentary lunch.
Manufacturing Council Programming
The mission of the Greater Memphis Chamber’s Manufacturing Council is to provide a forum for area manufacturing companies to receive updates and discuss the impact of new and existing environmental regulations, share potential impact of regulatory changes, and strategically align area workforce and education resources that support manufacturing businesses. The council also works with environmental officials to create an awareness of the business community’s concerns. There are two Manufacturing Council meetings each year, along with the two joint council meetings.
Move It Memphis 10K/5K
The Move It Memphis 10K/5K is an annual race through downtown Memphis that is unlike any other race in the city. This is a great way to enjoy a Saturday morning in the city. Move It Memphis is also an excellent opportunity to increase your business exposure and encourage your employees to get healthy by participating in the Corporate Challenge.
Redbirds Club Suite
The Memphis Chamber Redbirds Club Suite can be leased by Chamber members and non-members, and is a great way to entertain clients and reward employees.
Blue Carpet Tour
Every year, the Chamber invites national site selectors, media and economic development consultants to Memphis for a Blue Carpet Tour. This special, invitation-only, two-day event is part of our proactive agenda to showcase Memphis’ assets in the manufacturing, logistics and bioscience sectors. Presentations are given by top Memphis business leaders as well as elected officials in Memphis, Shelby County and the State of Tennessee. The goal is to have these "blue carpet" attendees leave Memphis with a better understanding of Memphis’ capabilities and strengths, because your Chamber at work knows that promoting these strengths is vital to Memphis’ economic development strategy.
Regional Logistics Council Programming
The mission of the Regional Logistics Council is to serve as an alliance with private companies in the logistics industry, including transportation companies, warehousing, supply chain management professionals, freight forwarders and real estate companies with the goal to enhance the industry by increasing jobs, wages and capital investment. There are two Regional Logistics Council meetings each year, along with the two joint council meetings.
Small Business Council Programming
The Small Business Council programming is focused on the needs of companies with 100 or fewer employees in the Memphis area. Programming includes educational breakfast meetings, after-hours networking receptions and specialized seminars.
Young Professionals Programming
Members of this Young Professionals group will participate meaningfully in shaping the policies and developing the strategies that will grow our Memphis economy, and by doing so, will secure their own financial future in this community.
