Board of Advisor Spotlight: Workbay

In each issue of Memphis Crossroads, we highlight a Board of Advisor level member, showcasing their important role in the Chamber as well as the business community. Mary Hayes, CEO of Workbay shares why her company is part of the Chamber as well as some benefits of doing business in Memphis.

Why did you join the Chamber?
There is so much opportunity in Memphis, and Workbay was excited to move its headquarters here in January 2016. Workbay is working with the Greater Memphis Alliance for a Competitive Workforce (GMACW) to build MemphisWorks, a workforce development tool using the Workbay platform. MemphisWorks connects the dots between job seekers, businesses and education in the Memphis community, so we love being part of the Chamber because it has provided us with the opportunity to foster relationships with businesses across Memphis. MemphisWorks launched December 2016 and we look forward to continue growing our relationship with the Chamber and the Memphis business community.

What are the benefits of doing business in Memphis?
Memphis is the hub for so many exciting careers, from transportation logistics to advanced manufacturing/manufacturing to healthcare to information technology, Memphis has it all. Memphis is also home to thousands of residents who are unaware of the vast opportunities available in their community.  MemphisWorks was built to educate and develop job seekers, while directly connecting them to employers and jobs. It also assists employers in finding new employees and retaining knowledgeable, experienced and trained employees. Memphis is the ideal city for this workforce movement because of the vast impact it can have on the future of the workforce, employers and the city’s economic growth.
