Board of Advisor Spotlight: Young & Rubicam Memphis

In each issue of Memphis Crossroads, we highlight a Board of Advisor level member, showcasing their important role in the Chamber as well as the business community. Kenneth Dowling, Managing Director of Young & Rubicam Memphis shares why his organization is part of the Chamber as well as some benefits of doing business in Memphis.

Why did you join the Chamber?

Young & Rubicam is a unique marketing and communications company.  We specialize in advertising, digital and social media, sales promotion, direct marketing and brand identity consulting. We bring the power and insights of our global network and apply those learnings and skills locally to develop unparalleled communications solutions. Together with our local partners Burson Campaigns and Wunderman we are committed to delivering a powerful combination of resources and marketing expertise to Memphis and the greater Mid South region.

As a new agency opening shop in Memphis, we felt it was vital to immediately join the Chamber. The Chamber has provided us with critical resources to help us develop our office here, find and hire talent locally, and made introductions to key business leaders in the area. The Chamber has also been a great source of information for our colleagues who are relocating to the area, and has helped facilitate a smooth transition and acclimation for us into the Memphis community.

What are the benefits of doing business in Memphis?
Memphis is clearly a city on the rise. The Downtown community continues to grow and thrive.  And the culture of Memphis and vibrant arts scene make it a perfect place to develop our agency offering. Y&R also has always had a strong heritage of community involvement for all of our agency offices. We feel blessed to have connected with several local community groups already, to become a part of the continued revitalization and long term success of the Memphis community.
