THE GREATER MEMPHIS CHAMBER ANNOUNCES ITS ANNUAL MEMBERSHIP DRIVE: FUEL THE FIRE!

Memphis, TN – As a non-profit organization, the Greater Memphis Chamber relies on the support of its membership to help fund the essential role it plays in the greater Memphis area through economic, community and member development. All three work towards making Memphis a great place to live, work and play. Those who help support the Greater Memphis Chamber as members are participating in the effort to making and maintaining Memphis as a “city of choice.”

The 2011 Fuel the Fire Membership Drive is a two month initiative where volunteers from the existing membership base persuade others to join the chamber and to get existing members to sponsor and buy advertising. The drive kicks off with a series of events starting with a training session on July 21st going through the celebration party on October 27th.

“Fuel the Fire is an excellent way for members to get involved in growing the chamber, an organization which has brought in over $300 million in economic development through its work with MemphisED*, says John Duncan, vice president of member development. “Memphis has had such a great string of successes lately—we’re on fire! Why not participate in fueling that fire?”

• Members: 200 New Members
• New Membership Dues: $100,000
• Sponsorships: $40,000
• Advertising: $10,000
