W. NEELY MALLORY III APPOINTED CHAIRMAN OF THE GREATER MEMPHIS CHAMBER’S REGIONAL LOGISTICS COUNCIL

W. Neely Mallory III of Mallory Alexander International Logistics has been appointed as the new Chairman of the Regional Logistics Council by Greater Memphis Chamber Chairman, Larry Cox. He replaced the previous chairman, Arnold Perl, after a rotating two year term that goes into effect immediately.
“While Memphis has been a transportation center for nearly two centuries, we cannot live on yesterday’s achievements,” said W. Neely Mallory III, president of Mallory International Logistics. “We must continually strive for today’s and tomorrow’s global markets. In 2012, the logistics business in Memphis and the Mid-South has never been more important, and presents opportunities for companies of all sizes that transport goods to market via truck, rail, air, river or sea. I am excited to have the opportunity to help our region continue to be a world-class leader in logistics.”
The Greater Memphis Chamber’s Regional Logistics Council, which includes the Major Roads Committee, works in conjunction with the Aerotropolis Initiative and is responsible for leading the logistics agenda for the Memphis region. The council is made up of transportation and logistics professionals in warehousing, engineering and design, economic development and supply chain services. The council also has a workforce development committee whose focus is building a career path with logistics workers starting in high school.
The Chairman’s role is to provide leadership in the execution of the council’s agenda for the logistics sector which includes infrastructure, major roads projects, and railroads. The Chairman is also responsible for leading the council’s strategy of marketing the assets of Memphis infrastructure and central location.
“I am pleased to appoint Neely Mallory III as Chairman of the Memphis Regional Logistics Council,” said Larry Cox, Chairman of the Greater Memphis Chamber. “As president of Mallory Alexander, Neely has been a leader in the logistics sector for many years and brings a wealth of knowledge and expertise to guide our agenda for this sector.”
W. Neely Mallory III is president of Mallory Alexander International Logistics, one of the largest third--party logistics organizations in the United States. Mr. Mallory has overseen the company’s growth from cotton forwarding to ocean transportation, intermodal trucking, warehousing and distribution. Most recently, Mr. Mallory accepted the President’s E Star Award for Excellence in Exporting in 2012 and the Governor’s GATE Award for facilitating global trade in 2011. Mr. Mallory is the past President of the Memphis World Trade Club and has served on the Boards of the National Cotton Council, Cotton Council International and the Agricultural Ocean Transportation Commission. He is married to Linda Mallory and has two sons, Neely IV and Richard.
