Be a voice for Memphis
The Chamber works with elected officials on behalf of our members to create jobs and build communities. We focus our advocacy on legislative issues that have the greatest impact across our community. Our policy agenda drives our advocacy. Members of the Chamber’s Government Affairs Executive Committee (GAC) develop our state and federal agendas each year using input provided by our Chamber members. After the Chamber Board of Directors approves the agendas, we share them with lawmakers and advocate for them until we get results.
We work directly with your state officials to advocate on behalf of our members. We’re always advocating to strengthen state business assistance tools, support entrepreneurs, improve the quality of early childhood education, support workforce development initiatives and enhance transportation infrastructure. View our State Legislative Agenda here.
Each year we travel to Washington, D.C. with our business leaders to meet with members of Congress on priority issues like trade, transportation and infrastructure, healthcare, tax reform, and education.
