New product offers cost-effective workers’ compensation solution for Greater Memphis Chamber members

MEMPHIS, Tennessee, September 13, 2021 – Chamber Benefits, Inc. (CBI­), a wholly-owned subsidiary of the Greater Memphis Chamber, today announced the launch of MemphisComp by Method, a workers’ compensation insurance product created to help local businesses manage the costs of their workers’ comp insurance.

Underwritten by Method Insurance, MemphisComp is exclusively available to Greater Memphis Chamber members, specifically benefitting industries like agriculture, construction, healthcare, manufacturing and transportation, which other workers’ compensation companies tend to shy away from due to the number of claims. Sneed Insurance, a Greater Memphis Chamber member, serves as the agency of record for the program.

“After more than a year of uncertainty introduced by the ongoing pandemic, the Greater Memphis Chamber saw a need for cost-saving insurance options for its members,” said Rob Recker, CBI president. “CBI’s relationship with the Greater Memphis Chamber allows us to provide relief for specific pain points faced by Memphis businesses that are unique to this market. MemphisComp provides in-house claims management and aids in the design of custom safety and loss prevention programming to help mitigate the number of workers’ compensation claims for each client. Combining sophisticated industry technologies and the backing of some of the country’s best carriers allows MemphisComp to provide competitive rates and a 79% reduction in the overall cost of a claim.

Previously known as MEMComp, the shift to MemphisComp and a new insurance provider facilitates the expansion of this model to other markets in the long term. MemphisComp is the first product in the CBI benefit suite, with more to launch in the coming months.
