We are pleased to welcome Apryl Childs-Potter to our team as our organization’s first Director of Brand Strategy and Integrated Communications. Apryl’s job is to help us fuse the Chamber’s marketing message into a cohesive voice. She will be a steward of the Memphis business brand, helping guide a unified marketing message for our efforts to attract more companies to Memphis and more members to our organization.
As part of the Communications and Programming team, Apryl will work to develop and implement a strategic communications plan to advance the Chamber and Chairman’s Circle brands and help broaden awareness of the programs and priorities of the organization. In addition, Apryl will be working closely with the Memphis Brand Initiative team to help maximize our economic development marketing initiatives and align our efforts to promote the city as a great place to do business.
“We are so excited to have someone like Apryl join our team,” said Amy Daniels, SVP, Communications & Programming. “Apryl is extremely passionate about Memphis. She sees so much opportunity to leverage our strengths for Memphis to be a true economic development powerhouse.”
“Our vision is for the world to know what so many of us already do,” said Apryl. “Memphis fosters a one-of-a-kind business environment with the authenticity, creativity and soul that make this city a great place to do business.”
Prior to joining the Chamber, Apryl founded customer insight and brand strategy firm Hyphen Market Solutions. Through that company, she helped guide community feedback research projects for the Memphis Medical District Collaborative, worked to rebrand Church Health Center and helped the Mayor’s Innovation Delivery Team gather public feedback for city initiatives. She’s worked with many of our member companies including Medtronic and Smith & Nephew and has an extensive background working with local marketing and PR firms.
She is originally from Greenville, Mississippi, but has called Memphis home for 15 years. She and her husband, Jason, live in Midtown with their five-year-old daughter, Blythe and nine-year-old dog, Wemberly.
