Administrative Assistant, MSQPC (Part-Time)

MSQPC – The Quality Center is seeking a part-time Administrative Assistant to provide administrative support to efficiently and effectively carry out the function of providing assistance and guidance to clients in pursuit of quality initiatives.

Responsibilities of this position include:

  • Accompanying the Executive Director and/or Manager of Training or attending on behalf of the Executive Director and/or Manager of Training at conferences and meetings to take notes
  • Assistance in writing and preparing marketing brochures, annual reports, Baldrige assessment reports and other client reports
  • Coordinating procedures concerning seminar/workshop registration directly with associates and clients
  • Organizing upcoming classes, meetings and conferences, including the selection of meeting rooms, transportation, and catering
  • Working with the Executive Director and Manager of Training to determine assets and expenditures in order to establish a working budget
  • Compiling data for annual reports and budgeting decisions to be shared with the Executive Director as needed

Director of Communications

The Director of Communications communicates the Chamber’s mission through public relations, media relations, and marketing and design and participates in the development of the Chamber’s plans and programs as a strategic partner.

Responsibilities of this position include:

  • Development & execution of global, national, and local media relations policies; initiating and maintaining media contacts to disseminate information.
  • Promote Chamber-related events and newsworthy opportunities.
  • Direct the production of printed and electronic publications including the Chamber’s quarterly magazine Memphis Crossroads, the Annual Report and the Memphis Newcomers Guide. (In this capacity, Director will manage the hiring of writers and photographers and serve as Editor.)
  • Research materials for and write speeches and position papers (editorials/letters) for company officials.
  • Arrange speaking engagements and public relations opportunities for members of the executive team.
  • Arrange interviews for and regularly brief executive team on sensitive and/or sometimes controversial issues; recommend public relations course of action in crises and in routine public relations situations.
  • Coordinate ceremonies, press conferences, and other events or special projects.
  • Maintain the Crisis Communications Plan.

Director of Public Policy

The Greater Memphis Chamber is seeking a Director of Public Policy to develop and implement a public policy agenda that supports economic development, job creation, and growth in the community. 

This position serves as an ombudsman for business in targeted sectors and at the individual company level relating to policy matters, and coordinates communication and advocacy of issues before the respective legislative bodies. The Director coordinates events such as meetings with officials, appears before legislative bodies as needed to represent the Chamber’s position on key issues, and coordinates other events such as receptions for elected and appointed officials. Additional responsibilities include:

  • identifying legislative and public policy issues that impact economic development and the business environment in the area through networking and personal research.
  • formulating policy positions on identified issues that represent the Chamber’s position and the interests of the area business community and presenting policy proposals to Chamber management and the Chamber Board.
  • monitoring legislative activity, and strategize and advance interventions to influence legislation toward achieving a favorable outcome for Chamber constituents.

Business Development Consultant

Greater Memphis Chamber Seeks Persuasive, Take-Charge Sales Pro

  • Are you a proactive, take-charge, persuasive person who usually gets what you want?

If so, as a Business Development Consultant at the Greater Memphis Chamber, you will drive our membership growth through true relational sales.  We have leads, efficient processes, sales tools and offer great value to our members. We need relentless, proactive salespeople who are passionate about getting us across the finish line with more new members. This is a well-compensated hunting sales position that is primarily paid on outcomes. It’s not for the faint of heart; it’s for a sales pro who needs to win.

You will be responsible for:

  • Working the sales pipeline from cold and warm call all the way to close
  • Building new sales opportunities
  • Telling a compelling story to persuade business owners to join the chamber, because they have so much to gain
