Chamber launches GMERG, hires executive director

MEMPHIS, Tenn. (Thursday, Jan. 19, 2023) – The Greater Memphis Chamber today announced a new name, leadership, and staff additions for its economic research and analysis arm, which has been renamed the Greater Memphis Economic Research Group, or GMERG (pronounced “G-merge”).

Meet the Chairman’s Circle: Will Isom, Charles River Laboratories

As Site Director for three of Charles River Laboratories’ Memphis locations, Will Isom is responsible for CRL’s cell therapy manufacturing services. CRL currently employs more than 20,000 people in 100-plus facilities in more than 20 countries. MSS Steel Tubes USA LLC to open $6M Memphis plant, create 129 jobs

MEMPHIS, Tenn. (Wednesday, 1/8/23) – The Greater Memphis Chamber today joined MSS Steel Tubes USA LLC, Tennessee Gov. Bill Lee, and other elected officials in announcing that the company plans to invest $6 million to open its first U.S. steel tubes production plant in Memphis, creating 129 jobs. Chamber opens registration for 2023 Memphis teacher externs, hosts

  • The Greater Memphis Chamber is accepting teacher extern and company host applications as part of its 2023 Teacher Externship Program at memphischamber.com/externs
  • The goal of the program is to build bridges between classrooms and businesses to help high school teachers better educate their students about future career opportunities
  • Teacher externs will receive $2,500 stipend and a $200 gift card for classroom supplies

MEMPHIS, Tenn. (Wednesday, 2/15/23) – The Greater Memphis Chamber today began accepting registrations from businesses looking to participate in its 2023 Teacher Externship Program. The summer program pays high school teachers a stipend to spend two weeks with a host company, providing them with hands-on experience in industries related to the subjects they teach and with classroom resources.
