The new facility will create over 100 local jobs and bring same-day delivery in a matter of hours.

MEMPHIS, TN – Amazon announced plans to develop its first same-day delivery facility in Memphis to support the company’s continued investment in fast delivery speeds for customers across West Tennessee. The facility, located at 4131 Clarke Road, will be approximately 350,000 square feet and is expected to begin operations in late 2027. Additional details will be announced as the project moves closer to launch.

The future facility will play a key role in enabling Amazon to meet customer demand for faster delivery options by supporting local package processing and last-mile operations. Once operational, the site is expected to employ roughly one hundred associates, in addition to the network of independent Amazon Flex delivery partners who help serve customers throughout the region.

“Amazon’s continued investment in Memphis shows confidence in our city’s direction and in the people who make it work,” stated Memphis Mayor Paul Young. “This new facility brings jobs, growth, and opportunity while reinforcing Memphis’s position as a hub for logistics and innovation.”

Amazon has been working closely with the Memphis Chamber, the City’s development services team, and local leaders throughout the planning and real estate process. The Memphis facility will be Amazon’s first of its kind in the city and represents the company’s continued investment in the area.

“Memphis is thrilled to welcome Amazon’s new same-day delivery station, a testament to our city’s growing logistics infrastructure and skilled workforce”, said Ted Townsend, President & CEO of the Greater Memphis Chamber. “This investment will create over 100 local jobs and bring faster delivery options to our residents, further solidifying Memphis as a key hub for e-commerce and innovation in the Digital Delta.”

Since 2010, Amazon has created over 28,000 full and part-time jobs across Tennessee and invested over 29 $billion in the state through infrastructure, compensation, and spending with small and medium-sized businesses. These investments contribute to statewide economic growth and support the creation of indirect jobs in logistics, construction, professional services, and other sectors that benefit from Amazon’s presence.
