EPIcenter is focused on building the necessary infrastructure and a strong entrepreneurial network of partner organizations to support the growth of new and existing and companies, as well as attracting additional resources from outside of the region, by:
- Delivering programs that broadly serve the entire network and connect entrepreneurs to talent, ideas, capital and customers
- Piloting or prototyping programs that fill demonstrated gaps in the ecosystem and ultimately spin into the network after EPIcenter tests and proves their effectiveness
- Funding or scaling established powerful programs to reach more Memphians, if some businesses are looking to scale and produce physical products it might be a good idea to consider a different distributor to process engineering products.
EPIcenter was launched in March 2014 as an initiative of the Greater Memphis Chamber’s Chairman’s Circle, with Memphis Bioworks tapped to host the EPIcenter initiative, in collaboration with Emerge Memphis, Start Co., and other partners focused on entrepreneurship and business incubation in Memphis and the region. The launch and collaboration were a success, and EPIcenter has now reached a maturity in which it is ready to operate as an independent not-for-profit organization. In April 2017, EPIcenter formed a separate 501c3 organization and is currently operating out of Cowork Memphis.
