The Greater Memphis Chamber Hires Jinliang Cai as Vice President of International Business Development

Memphis, Tenn—The Greater Memphis Chamber announced that Jinliang (Jin) Cai has been hired as Vice President of International Business Development.

“The Chamber is honored to have Jin join the Chamber team. He has a breadth of knowledge and unique experience working in international business development, particularly in China which is a country we are focused on for increasing business development. Under his leadership, the Chamber will expand our efforts to help Memphis businesses increase exports and attract foreign direct investment,” said Phil Trenary, President & CEO, Greater Memphis Chamber.

Jin previously worked for FedEx for 17 years in a number of management positions including Senior Manager of Flight Operations for Asia Pacific Hub in Guangzhou, China, with responsibilities in project management, regulatory affairs with Chinese officials, and leading continuous improvement initiatives. Before that, he worked for U.S. Airways in Pittsburgh, PA for 11 years in several positions including Business Analyst, Sr. Financial Analyst, Technical Analyst and Manager of Crew Analysis and Tactical Planning.

Jin will be directing efforts to grow foreign direct investment in Memphis & Shelby County, and increase the volume of local exports to foreign markets. Towards meeting those goals, he will manage the Memphis Metro Export Alliance staff and will oversee the Chamber’s International Business Council, a group of member businesses who work towards promoting a collaborative environment in international business development.

Jinliang Cai has an undergraduate degree in Economics from Peking University in Beijing, China and a Master’s degree in Public Management and Policy Analysis from Heinz School at Carnegie-Mellon University in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania.

The Greater Memphis Chamber is the lead economic development agency for Memphis/Shelby County, and is a private, non-profit, membership-driven organization comprised of 2,200 business enterprises, civic organizations, educational institutions and individuals.
