What event or accomplishment has been the most impactful for your career so far?
The most impactful event of my career has been mentorship by one of my previous chiefs. Mentorship in the workplace has made a huge influence on my career and I am looking forward to mentoring a young person in the same capacity.
What motivates you to be active in your community or profession?
I have always been motivated to make a difference in the city that helped raise me. I have lived in other cities but it has brought me great joy to move back home and contribute my talents to the work and efforts that are going to influence Memphis for years to come.
What does “being a young professional in Memphis” mean to you?
Opportunities to create what is missing in Memphis, with the right resources and connections, new business ideas are always welcome and attainable in our city.
What do you like about living in Memphis?
I love going to Shelby Farms with my family when the weather is nice. It’s a peaceful place and very easy to social distance yourself and stay safe. I truly enjoy a good Memphis Grizzlies game, I feel like everyone comes together to root for our city.
What advice do you have for new young professionals interested in starting or building their career in Memphis?
Seek mentorship in every area of your life. Memphis is a city that revolved around relationships, so make as many meaningful connections as you can.
Who do you most admire and why?
I truly admire the women in my family. They are motivated, hard-working, and dedicated to their family and professions. They have their own and they have instilled in me how important it is to set myself up for success. It isn’t up to anyone but me.
Where do you see yourself in 10 years?
I see myself being a great contributor to the city of Memphis in the field of education, real estate and the arts.
What’s your favorite thing about being a young professional in Memphis?
I love that so many organizations in Memphis are investing in young professionals by creating their own young professional groups. There are so many opportunities now to create real relationships with top business leaders and peers through these networks.
