Chamber, YMCA, WeCare tlc partner to open Memphis health centers

MEMPHIS, Tenn. (Tuesday, Aug. 8, 2023) – Greater Memphis Chamber subsidiary Chamber Benefits, Inc., the YMCA of Memphis & the Mid-South, and WeCare tlc today announced a new partnership to open primary care health centers at YMCA locations across Greater Memphis starting in 2024.

Local Leaders and British Consulate Discuss Memphis Tech Talent

On May 30, the Greater Memphis Chamber hosted a Diversity in Technology Roundtable with members of the British Consulate-General Atlanta, local technology business leaders and diversity advocates. In an effort to understand the city and region’s technical capabilities and strengths, the Consulate’s team members spoke directly with industry experts on Memphis’ unique position as the nation’s number one source of diverse technical talent in terms of both race and gender. Organizations such as CodeCrew, CSforAll and Black Girls CODE had representatives in attendance.

MSS Steel opens Memphis steel plant, creating 129 clean energy jobs

(NASDAQ:NXT), a global market leader in utility-scale solar trackers, and MSS Steel Tubes USA, a joint venture of Metalogalva and Soufer, today announced the commissioning of a new Tennessee factory to manufacture low-carbon steel components for Nextracker’s solar tracking systems. The Memphis-based facility will manufacture Nextracker steel torque tubes, creating 129 jobs and generating millions of dollars in local economic investment.
